Ross Garner

Hello, and welcome to the last ever episode of the GoodPractice podcast. What

Nicola

What?

Ross Dickie

Who?

Ross Garner

Say it ain't so?

Peter

Whoa, whoa. I think he's building to something

Ross Garner

That's right. Next week the team will return under a new brand the Good Practice podcast from Emerald Works.

Nicola

Woo

Ross Garner

Today we're joined by Emerald Works CEO, Peter Casebow, to tell us more

Peter

Hi Ross.

Ross Garner

We've also got Ross Dickie and Nicola Boyle here from the usual Good Practice hosting team.

Ross Dickie

Hello everyone.

Nicola

Hi Ross.

Ross Garner

So Peter, why should this be exciting news for our listeners

Peter

I think it's exciting news on a whole range of levels. I mean, firstly, what we're doing is bringing together three highly successful businesses who each work globally with recognized brands. And we're bringing them together as one new business called Emerald Works so that we can give our clients in Australia, UK, and Europe solutions that can create real impact for them

Ross Garner

Yeah. Bring us some more international perspectives to the podcast. I think historically we've had a slightly UK focus but a lot of American guests, would be nice to expand that in the coming months

Peter

It definitely would. I mean one of the things with this combined business is that 63% of the business now comes from outside the UK. So this is an international business. We're serving two and a half million people every month across 180 countries.

Nicola

Peter, Towards Maturity have got an excellent reputation for their research. What's going to happen with that in the future

Peter

They do. And 15 years of research that they've been carrying out, we want to see this research continue. One of the things that we want to make sure that the new Emerald Works brand stands for is that it's evidence led, empowered by people. We really want to stand behind that and see that evidence coming in and make that readily available to everybody

Ross Garner

Yeah. And so I think that one of the great things about having that research background that Towards Maturity bring and Good Practice and Mind Tools have both done reports in the past is that that research can then inform the podcast. So we'll be sharing insights that the team uncover through the surveys that they do across the world and their data analysis. But then we can also bring those insights to the public and have that inform our content and the guests that come on as well.

Peter

I think one of the other things, and I just want to make clear as we bring these companies together is that the level of service that people are going to get is continuing. If people have already got access to a Good Practice toolkit or a Mind Tools toolkit, you will still access that same content

Peter

So these are some of the things that aren't changing. But as we invest in the future one of the things we want to do is actually think about what do we really need to let this toolkit so these toolkits look like in 20, 21 and beyond? So we're going to be investing in new platforms and thinking about our content going forward as well

Nicola

And one thing that definitely won't be changing is the GoodPractice podcast format.

Ross Dickie

That's right. We'll have the same great hosts plus Owen, same theme tune. And you'll be hearing more from some of the best thinkers and practitioners in L&D.

Ross Garner

In fact, the only thing changing with the podcast is our name. We will now be called the Good 'space' Practice podcast from Emerald Works
